To make life easier when hashing a file, or text, devise a way to remove this white space.

I first thought of a tool menu to "remove white space", this is too cumbersome. Just add it as an option on the option form to removed white space from hash values. This can be added to the same event already firing for new/updated values
Closed Issue: Drag and Drop not working in Windows 7 [30823]

BD File Hash loaded on 64 bit Windows 7.

Dragging a file onto the form does not show the 'copy' cursor and does not fire the drag and drop events.
Comments:
Closing, unable to reproduce

New Post: request: have a button to submit to virustotal to see if file has been previously scanned on their site

awesome

New Post: request: have a button to submit to virustotal to see if file has been previously scanned on their site

jawz101 wrote:

Right click a file and "Send To" BD File Hash

Parses the hash string from a text file (no copy/pasting from a text editor)

When you hash a file, a similar named text file will be scanned for a hash value and written to compare hash field

Compare two files with just a few clicks

Save a default hash type

Hash any string of text by pasting it into a text field

I certainly understand the usefulness of such a feature, I am just not positive on the most useful way to implement it. A few thoughts:

What types of outputs, CSV, Excel, tab delimited, MS Access, other db file?

Hash a whole directory of files to a text file?

Compare a directory of files with a file of hashes?

compare two directories?

Suggestions and comments will be helpful to create this new feature. If you have any ideas or suggestions please add them to work item, Batch Mode Hashing, which is being used to manage this task or discuss the options in discussion Methods to add batch hashing mode.
Thank you for your help in improving this application!

.

Updated Release: BD File Hash 1.1.2 (Jun 15, 2011)

bdfilehashsetup.exe version 1.1.2 hash values (Don't forget to verify those hashes!):
It is never recommended to use a current download to verify it's own hash version

This release contains the following bug fixes:
Sets ~From Text~ even if text hash wasn't calculated
Set 'Copy hash to clipboard' default to false

This release contains usability enhancements:
A few performance recommendations from Visual Studio

Microsoft .NET 3.5 SP1 is required to run this application. You will need to install this framework prior to using the application. The current installer is not configured to install the framework if is missing. This will be added in a future release.

Hash a whole directory of files to a text file?

Compare a directory of files with a file of hashes?

Suggestions and comments will be helpful to create this new feature.
